From May 1st to 4th, 2025, the Rocca di Papa – Pratoni del Vivaro Equestrian Sports Complex hosted the 2025 Italian Eventing Championships. In this prestigious competition, Sergeant Major Emiliano Portale and Scuderia 1918 Future delivered a brilliant performance, stepping onto the third step of the podium with a final score of 48.60 penalties.
Test Results
The path to bronze was built through three demanding phases:
- Dressage: with a solid performance, the pair scored 35.00 penalties, placing second after this phase.
- Cross-country: they tackled the course with determination, incurring 4.00 time penalties, bringing their total to 39.00 penalties, and maintaining their second position.
- Show jumping: in the final test, they registered 9.60 penalties, bringing their final score to 48.60 penalties, securing the bronze medal.
A Talented and Experienced Horse
Scuderia 1918 Future is a 2008 bay stallion of SWB breed, sired by Fetcher N out of Grace Keg (by Le Mistral). He joined the Scuderia 1918 team in 2019 and gained international experience with several riders before starting his partnership with Emiliano Portale in 2023. Together, they have achieved significant results, including a sixth-place finish at the CCI4-L in Baborówko* in 2023, which earned them a qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
A Shared Vision for the Future of Italian Eventing
The pair is based at the Military Equestrian Centre in Montelibretti, a center of excellence of the Italian Army and a national benchmark for military equestrianism. It is here that Emiliano Portale, serving as Sergeant Major, trains daily, and where Scuderia 1918 Future is stabled.
The podium finish achieved by Emiliano Portale and Scuderia 1918 Future is also a tangible result of the collaborative project between Scuderia 1918 and the Military Equestrian Centre in Montelibretti for the selection and development of young horses destined for top-level sport.
