Week Recap – Kevin Staut & Visconti du Telman Claim the Podium in the FEI Jumping World Cup Final

Kevin Staut and the outstanding Visconti du Telman wrapped up the FEI Jumping World Cup Final in Basel with a brilliant third-place finish, thanks to a final round full of adrenaline and precision that crowned a week of high emotions.

DAY 1 – Thursday, April 3, 2025: A Strong Start

The final kicked off with a great performance from the combination, who tackled the first course with great fluidity, finishing clear and placing 5th in the provisional ranking. A promising start that immediately highlighted their form and focus.

DAY 2 – Friday, April 4, 2025: Technical Challenge

The second day brought a tough test for all competitors, with a particularly technical and tricky course. Kevin and Visconti tackled it with determination, delivering a super round (70.73 seconds) and just one unfortunate rail down—on the very last jump.

Despite the unlucky fault, they secured 8th place in the day’s ranking and still moved up one spot in the overall standings to 4th place provisionally.

DAY 3 – Sunday, April 6, 2025: Podium Finish!

The final day was decisive. Kevin and Visconti gave it their all, closing with 0/4 penalties and a time of 62.72, a result that earned them 3rd place in the final ranking. It was an emotional performance that rewarded the consistency and connection of this exceptional pair.

The win went to Julien Epaillard and Donatello d’Auge, followed by Ben Maher and Point Break in second place.

> Overall ranking

“I’m very happy! Visconti du Telman is already sixteen years old, but she is still improving. I’ve already competed in several World Cup finals with her as well as a major championship, and I really feel that she continues to evolve.

For this kind of championship, you have to have a horse that you know well. Technical mastery is of course important, but so is the confidence factor. Today, I think Visconti is at the peak of her career.

I feel a great satisfaction, shared by my whole team, to succeed in maintaining horses at this level. It’s the result of a collective effort, especially by Françoise Sanguinetti, her breeder and owner, who even arrived in Basel before me (laughs), and all the people who work with me to allow me to make a living from my sport, year after year.”
