Alberto Zorzi to ride for Scuderia 1918

Alberto Zorzi is now officially a Team Scuderia 1918 rider thereby adding another Italian to a team that now includes the excellence of Italian show jumping. We will therefore be seeing Giulia Martinengo Marquet, Lorenzo De Luca, Piergiorgio Bucci and Alberto Zorzi riding for Scuderia 1918’s colours in shows all over the world, alongside the team’s other outstanding riders Kevin Staut and Daniel Deusser.

In returning to Italy after living in Valkenswaard, Holland, where he rode for Jan Tops, Alberto Zorzi has turned his life and career around and embarked on a new path. Born in Padova in 1989, the Italian Army athlete Alberto Zorzi has now returned home, establishing his new headquarters in stables in Monteviale near Vicenza, and it is from here that he will start over with new horses with which he will form profound synergies aiming for important competitive results.

Class, talent, finesse, technical expertise, competitive skills, professionalism and exceptional sensitivity, combined with the wealth of experience he brings with him from his years at ‘Stal Tops’, have made him one of the most popular riders in international show jumping.

“I am really happy to have joined Team Scuderia 1918, a group of exceptional riders who are also all my friends. This is going to be a great team and we will certainly do our very best. The dream is always the same, and that means riding in the Olympic Games. This will require a great deal of work, training important horses so as to participate in great sport. Once this is achieved, we can think about the Olympics. So initially we will work on producing great horses to then continue our careers together. I will continue to ride wearing my Italian Army uniform and am very grateful to the army for always supporting the choices I make.”

Alberto Zorzi

“Having added Alberto Zorzi to the team, Scuderia 1918 is creating the foundations for making the difference in our sport over the long term.”
