The final day of the international competition in Lichtenvoorde was marked by a standout performance from Giampiero Garofalo and the promising L-Maleena Von Der Sohr, who claimed victory in the 1.40m Grand Prix reserved for young horses.
For the talented 7-year-old mare, it was her first international Grand Prix at this height, but nerves were never an issue: with a lightning-fast time of 35.02 seconds in the jump-off, the pair secured the win and climbed to the top of the podium.
“I’m incredibly happy. Maleena is still young, but she already has a very competitive mindset. I knew we had a chance, and I’m really pleased it worked out this way. It was a great test for her — and finishing strong always makes the trip home sweeter”.
said Giampiero with a smile.

This victory confirms the remarkable consistency of this young mare, who has taken at least one win in each of the last four consecutive weekends. A statistic that speaks not only to the horse’s natural talent but also to the quality of the daily work behind the scenes.
